PUFFIN 42 UPDATE | ALMOST READY FOR SEA TRIALS
The Puffin 42 has now been launched and rigged, and is starting to look exactly as she was designed to be: a true sailing yacht.
After launching, she was directly sailed to the centre of Enkhuizen, where the rig was installed by the rigging experts of Jachtservice De Werf. With the mast now in place, her profile has changed completely. This is the stage we love, the stage where the yacht starts to come together as a sailing vessel.
The Puffin 42 is equipped with a cutter rig, featuring a mast with double spreaders and a diamond stay construction to provide additional stiffness and support to the top. This setup offers both strength and control, contributing to safe and stable sailing in a wide range of conditions.
She is fitted with two headsails and a Code 0, allowing her to adapt easily to different wind angles and conditions.
With the rig now installed, we focus on final preparations before she heads out for her first sea trials.

PUFFIN 42 UPDATE | LAUNCHED
Last week our Puffin 42 hit the water for the first time. After months of building and finishing, she is currently moored alongside our yard in the centre of Enkhuizen. This is where she is now going through the final phase of rig installation and completing the last details on board.
With her bare aluminium hull, white painted superstructure and the distinctive, tough looking bimini / solar arch, the Puffin 42 already shows the strong explorer character she was designed for.
Once the rigging is in place and the final systems checks are completed, she will be ready for her first sea trials.
This Puffin 42 represents the next step for Puffin Yachts, built by VMG Yachtbuilders.
