PUFFIN 42 UPDATE | LAUNCHED
Last week our Puffin 42 hit the water for the first time. After months of building and finishing, she is currently moored alongside our yard in the centre of Enkhuizen. This is where she is now going through the final phase of rig installation and completing the last details on board.
With her bare aluminium hull, white painted superstructure and the distinctive, tough looking bimini / solar arch, the Puffin 42 already shows the strong explorer character she was designed for.
Once the rigging is in place and the final systems checks are completed, she will be ready for her first sea trials.
This Puffin 42 represents the next step for Puffin Yachts, built by VMG Yachtbuilders.

PUFFIN 42 UPDATE: LOOKING AHEAD
As the Puffin 42 enters the final phase of her build, today we take a moment to look ahead. These renders show how the yacht will appear once all protection is removed and she is fully rigged. Take a look at this preview of what is to come.
The Puffin 42 is really coming together. The bare aluminium hull forms a strong and honest foundation, combined with a white painted, modern superstructure. The integrated bimini and solar arch give the yacht a confident explorer look that fits her character perfectly. A purposeful design, ready for serious use.
Inside, work continues at full pace. The interior is coming together beautifully, featuring a modern light oak finish that combines great with the robust aluminium hull structure. Systems, interior elements and finishing details are being completed step by step. Strong, functional components such as the bimini, solar arch and tender arrangement emphasize the practical and well thought out nature of this Puffin 42. These details are what make her distinctive.
The build is progressing smoothly and we are now clearly in the final weeks. At the beginning of next month, the Puffin 42 will be launched, after which the remaining commissioning and fine tuning will take place in the water. In May, we expect to share the first sailing footage of the yacht. A moment we are very much looking forward to.

PUFFIN 42 UPDATE: ENTERING THE FINAL PHASE
This is the phase of the build where the apparent chaos on board increases. More and more components come together, all at the same time. Interior elements, systems and finishing details are installed in parallel. While the yacht is clearly taking shape, the risk of damage also grows.
To protect her during this stage, the Puffin 42 is now almost completely wrapped. The exterior paintwork is covered with a special protective layer to prevent any damage. Inside, floors, furniture and surfaces are carefully shielded. Everything is focused on delivering the yacht without a single scratch.
This also means that the photos towards the end of the build will not become cleaner or more impressive at first glance. On the contrary. The yacht will look increasingly cluttered. Only in the final days before delivery will all protection be removed. That moment reveals the yacht as she is meant to be seen.
In reality, this growing layer of protection is a clear sign of progress. The more covered she is, the closer she is to completion.
The interior is coming together beautifully. This Puffin 42 features a modern light oak interior, combined with the robust aluminium finish of the hull. The contrast with the elegant, white sprayed superstructure works exactly as intended. Strong, functional elements such as the bimini, solar arch and tender setup add to her purposeful character. These details are what make this Puffin 42 unique.
The build continues to run smoothly. Most systems are already installed and integrated. With delivery planned for this spring, we are now firmly in the final stretch.
